Introduction to the Distribution Maps

For all species distribution maps for Europe are given. The maps use the grid-system of the Atlas Florae Europaeae, amended by grid-cells for Cyprus, for some Greek islands in the Aegean Sea and at the eastern boarder of Europe. In this chapter the database for compilation of maps as well as the rationale of maps are presented including the list of field workers and agancies providing data about species occurencies.
