摘要

Chronic elbow instability is a limiting condition usually generated as a consequence of previous trauma. It is developed after an injury to the lateral collateral ligament or medial collateral ligament of the elbow. Physical examination, mainly the provocative maneuvers, is the key to a proper diagnosis, as x-rays or MRIs could be normal. Treatment is eminently surgical through ligament reconstruction, and there are a lot of different techniques to achieve this goal. Residual instability and ulnar nerve injury are the most frequent complications after posterolateral and medial collateral ligament reconstruction, respectively
