Common Knee Disorders

The knee is one of the most frequent locations of orthopaedic problems, also in the pediatric age. This chapter presents and discusses the main pathologies of the immature knee and its treatment. The main congenital conditions that affect the knee will be treated, patellar instability, and angular disorders in the growing knee, including Blount’s disease, and the main causes of pain in children’s knees and problems due to overuse will be addressed. It has been tried to make a simple and updated presentation of the most frequent processes that affect the knee during the pediatric age and to give a current vision of its treatment.
