Generalities of Orthopaedic Oncology
摘要
Correct evaluation of bone and soft-tissue tumours is necessary. Orthopaedic oncologists should learn an accurate and efficient workup of bone and soft-tissue tumours. Misdiagnosis or delay diagnosis of bone and soft-tissue lesions will significantly increase patient morbidity. Careful clinical history, exhaustive physical examination and correct radiographical assessment will lead to construct a correct deferential diagnosis to direct proper care for the patient. Geographic and sclerotic borders without bone destruction can be seen in benign lesions. Locally aggressive or malignant lesions are often accompanied with local pain, ill-defined border lesions or bone destruction. Further investigation with advanced imaging modalities and biopsy should be decided if necessary.
