TKA Aseptic Loosening
摘要
Aseptic component loosening of a total knee replacement is a growing problem, correlating with the increasing number of primary replacement surgeries performed. This has a very large negative impact on the costs of the health system. The causes of aseptic component loosening are varied, from flaws in implant designs, inadequate surgical techniques, or loss of fixation due to wear or bone resorption. Early detection is extremely important to prevent progression, the development of more serious complications that are more difficult to resolve, and to improve the results of revision surgery.
