Wrist Synovial Cysts

Synovial cyst of the wrist (volar or dorsal) are very common tumors. Its origin is still under discussion, most agree with the consequence of articular hypermobility and laxity. Its correct analysis begins with a complete physical exam. Treatment can be observation for the majority. Surgery is indicated for cosmesis or with severe symptoms. Imaging studies will provide us with details regarding the exact location and depth, in order to guide our surgical excision, by either open or arthroscopic approach.
