  • Fiona Murphy

摘要

Acute kidney injury (AKI) is a serious life-threatening clinical syndrome which is prevalent throughout primary and secondary care settings worldwide. There are many risk factors for AKI and its impact is substantial in terms of individuals concerned and the relevant healthcare settings. There are various types of AKI including hospital acquired, community acquired, and more recently COVID-19 associated AKI. Nurses play a pivotal role in identifying AKI in a prompt manner along with other members of the interdisciplinary team. Both education and emotional support are vital for individuals affected by AKI. Nurses need to update their knowledge and understanding of AKI so that they can continue to maintain best practice within their clinical areas.
