Oral Care for Adults with CKD

People with CKD may experience a wide range of oral manifestations related to their underlying disease and/or its treatment. Additionally, poorer oral health, particularly periodontal disease, has been identified, with associated inflammatory markers potentially worsening the severity of CKD, cardiovascular heart disease, and diabetes. These factors can significantly impact their quality of life. Hence nursing teams play a pivotal role in both the prevention of oral disease and the identification of potential oral complications.
