Quality of Life in People Receiving Kidney Replacement Therapy

The life of the patients receiving kidney replacement therapy is subject to different stressful and threatening situations. Those patients can suffer from psychosocial disturbances that can directly interfere to their psychological well-being as well as their quality of life. Moreover, pain is a considerable health concern that can interfere to the treatment outcomes and is a source and a factor that contributes to the development of anxiety and depression. However, the ability to have emotional intelligence skills and a treatment adherence can be an adequate tool to face stressful situations and achieve emotional well-being. Appropriate health interventions are key in order to detect, prevent, and treat any mental disorder in this particular population.
