Vascular Access Management and Care: CVC
摘要
Vascular access in hemodialysis (HD) is essential to ensure the quality of treatment and improve the health status of people with chronic kidney disease (CKD). Primary election of vascular access is the native arteriovenous fistula (AVF); however, not all patients with CKD are eligible for it. An alternative to AVF is the implantation of a central venous catheter (CVC). The management and care of CVC are of crucial importance to make vascular access compatible with quality of life and to prolong its use.
