Introduction to Kidney Functions and Pathophysiology
摘要
Healthy kidney function pathophysiology underpins all aspects of kidney disease, the complications of kidney disease and associated treatments. The nephrons are the powerhouse of the kidney performing many complex functions that enable the kidneys to regulate the balance of both fluids and electrolytes, frequently with hormonal input and feedback mechanisms. The kidney also plays other important roles including erythropoietin production, vitamin D activation and blood pressure regulation.
