Regulation of Geothermal Energy in Australia
摘要
Geothermal energy is a renewable energy source that has significant potential to help reduce Australia’s dependence on fossil fuels and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. While the initial promise of geothermal energy has not been realized, there is evidence of a resurgence in commercial interest in recent years. This chapter highlights that comprehensive legislation facilitating the exploration for and exploitation of geothermal energy exists in each of the six Australian states and the Northern Territory.
