Rehabilitation After Total Laryngectomy
摘要
The term rehabilitation [from “re” and “habilitate”: to make able-bodied again, capable of performing certain activities] denotes the complex of medical, physiotherapeutic, psychological, and functional training measures designed to restore or improve the psychophysical efficiency of individuals with congenital or acquired disabilities. In some cases, it aims to achieve self-sufficiency for the fulfillment of basic needs, the improvement of interpersonal relationship skills, the partial or total recovery of working skills that allows the achievement of economic autonomy or, in cases of serious psychophysical impairment, basically represents an occupational therapy measure.
