摘要
The use of voice prosthesis (VP) involves the creation of a tracheoesophageal puncture (TEP) where the VP is placed. This procedure can be performed with different timing depending on the choice of the surgeon and on any complementary therapies to which the patient will be addressed after total laryngectomy. In particular, the tracheoesophageal puncture with positioning of voice prosthesis can be performed during total laryngectomy surgery (primary TEP) or long after the surgery (secondary TEP).
