摘要

This chapter aims to outline a didactic and comprehensive approach of assessing and treating multiligament knee injuries. An overview of the inherent biomechanics and how alignment affects the force transmission across the knee joint during gait is provided. Readers will be guided through a systematic assessment of these complex injury patterns including history, examination, and radiological assessment. Various indications and techniques in addressing coronal and sagittal plane deformities are covered. Corrective osteotomies are rarely performed in the acute multiligament knee injuries. However, in the chronic setting, assessment of limb alignment and subsequent deformity correction is paramount to optimize the knee biomechanics and provide a successful clinical outcome.
