Inside-Out Arthroscopic Meniscus Repair Techniques
摘要
Meniscus preservation with repair is preferred when possible in order to optimize knee function. Despite technological advancements of all-inside devices, the inside-out meniscus repair technique remains useful and offers many advantages. Sutures are passed from inside the knee across the tear, then out of the joint where they are tied against the capsule. The inside-out technique provides greater versatility in needle placement, smaller meniscus perforations, increased number of sutures, and a stronger construct. These benefits must be balanced by the need for an additional incision. This chapter describes the authors preferred techniques for inside-out meniscus repair utilizing posterolateral and posteromedial surgical exposures.
