Artificial Intelligence and Liability: The Strategy of the European Union

In the presence of autonomous decision-making robots, following self-learning process, question arises whether liability gap can be filled by legislative reforms or whether recognizing subjectivity of robots is appropriate. The European Commission is proposing amending safety and producer liability rules, although I doubt that the unwanted effects of self-learning process can be considered defects.
