This chapter aims to demonstrate that, in the 1930s and 1940s, ideasIdeas and theories presented by modern physics boosted an epistemological development in the sciencesScience of life. In turn, biologyBiology and life sciences were vital in consolidating historical epistemology and understanding the history of scienceHistory of science. This analysisAnalysis is established from the works of two seminal authors in the historiographyHistoriography of scienceScience, Ludwik Fleck and Georges Canguilhem. When reconsidering the phenomenon of life inspired by ideasIdeas from modern physics, these two physicians allowed us to understand it as a new type of mechanismMechanisms much more dynamic, including biological and social aspects.
