Basics of Speech Fluency Disorders
摘要
Definitions and classifications of fluency disorders are presented and discussed. An overview is given about epidemiology and symptomatology of stuttering. Current knowledge about the aetiology of stuttering is presented by elucidating the genetic underpinnings of persistent developmental stuttering, discussing possible environmental contributions, while highlighting the relevant nuances of neurogenic and psychogenic stuttering. Speech and non-speech motor characteristics of stuttering are explained in detail considering inter alia control mechanisms of movements, reaction times, motor learning and sensorimotor integration.
