John Amos Comenius
摘要
The philosopher and theologian John Amos Comenius is considered by many scholars as one of the greatest pedagogical thinkers who left a strong mark on modern educational thoughts. Comenius lived during the mid-sixteenth century. This period was characterized by wars, poverty, religious persecution, social inequality, and ideological conflict. His philosophy of Pansophism and revolutionary education principles make him the father of modern education. He dedicated over 40 years of his life in advocating for universal education, reforming education, developing research methods, and renewing the methodology of pedagogy. By reviewing the existing literature, the impression is that the study of educational reform processes would not be complete without Comenius’ exhaustive contributions on the development of modern methodology of pedagogy and the development of teaching methods and techniques. Bearing this in mind, there is responsibility to represent in the following text Comenius’ life and work to learn more about his life, work, theories, and the development of the didactic methodology as a scientific discipline used by today’s pedagogy experts, researchers, and practitioners.
