Complementing DT with Enterprise Social Networks: A MCDA-Based Methodology for Cocreation

Even though some authors affirm that DT cover the whole product lifecycle including cocreation practices such as codesign, two main problems appear: interoperability and data sharing restrictions. These two barriers avoid to efficiently carry out cocreation processes, as the provided technological space is not adequate to exchange ideas, generate knowledge, and foster innovation. In this sense, enterprise social networks (ESN) have recently demonstrated their potentiality for carrying out cocreation activities. Then this paper presents a MCDA-based methodology to select the most appropriate ESN to support and foster cocreation activities, complementing the implementation of DT in other inter-organizational processes such as manufacturing or delivery, where DT have proved their high level of performance.
