Zombie Economics
摘要
This chapter examines the meaning of zombie economics. In brief, this term refers to defunct economic ideas that still operate in the capitalist marketplace. Using Max Brooks’ 2006 novel World War Z as a case study, I analyze the overlap between zombie mythology and the centrality of capitalism in zombie post-apocalyptic texts. Greater consideration of texts like World War Z, I argue, can further our understanding of real-world zombie economic phenomena.
