Future Perspectives

In this chapter, we discuss future directions in epilepsy surgery. Several non-invasive novelties are emerging as promising tools in network analysis, potentially helpful in surgical investigation and improving post-surgical outcomes. Artificial intelligence and machine learning show an expanding role in epilepsy (e.g., seizure detection) and predicting surgical outcomes. Finally, there are emerging devices and surgical techniques with promising safe and effective profile.
