An Overall Perspective on Ethnobotany in Morocco

The Kingdom of Morocco is located at the Northwest corner of the African continent. Concerning the inhabitants and according to the General Census of Population and Housing, the population is estimated to be 33,762,036 citizens and 86,206 foreigners living in Morocco. This population is mainly Arabo-Berber (with Muslim religion and official language Arabic). In addition to these indigenous people, some other people have migrated to Morocco such as Arabo-Berbers coming from the Northeast of Africa Vandals, Romans and Spanish from Europe, the Sub-Saharan Africans from the South, and the Phoenician, Jewish, and Arabo-Muslims from the East (Bellakhdar 1997).
