JCMT: The James Clerk Maxwell Telescope

The events that precipitated Canada into participation in the James Clerk Maxwell Telescope (JCMT) have been discussed in the previous Chapter. The origin of the participation arose through a quirky set of circumstances that could not have been either pre-planned or foreseen, yet it led to a remarkable situation in which two negatives definitely generated a positive. We describe Canada’s involvement with the JCMT.
