Water-Energy-Food Nexus in the Urban–Rural Relationship
摘要
Many countries in East and Southeast Asia are experiencing challenges associated with rapid urbanization and population growth. In this chapter, the nexus situations at multiple scales, including cities and nations in sub-regions of Asia, as well as at the Asian and global scales, will be analysed. The connections between urban areas as consumption areas and rural areas as production areas will be discussed as a water-energy-food nexus, including trade-offs among resources and global and local environmental impacts for sustainability.
