摘要

This chapter provides detailed description of various types of fuel reactors, namely, the bubbling fluidized bed (BFB), spouted fluidizes bed (SFB), and the circulating fluidized bed (CFB), and their numerical simulation. Fuel reactor is a critical component in a CLC system since the reaction performance in the fuel reactor has great influence on the combustion efficiency, and carbon conversion and CO2 capture efficiency of the whole system. By far, different types of fuel reactor have been proposed for CLC process. The bubbling fluidized bed (BFB) is widely used due to longer solid residence time. The spouted fluidized bed (SFB) is adopted because of favorable gas-solid mixing. The circulating fluidized bed (CFB) is applied in view of the sufficient gas-solid contact caused by intense flow regimes. Considering great control of the residence time and fuel conversion, the counterflow moving bed is also considered for the fuel reactor. This chapter gives detailed description of the simulations of different types of fuel reactors, and typical gas-solid flow characteristics are introduced.
