摘要

This chapter provides a summary of the gas-fueled and solid-fueled CLC processes reported in the literature, in particular the key input parameters and reactions considered in their numerical simulation. Different types of fuels can be used for the CLC process. The gas fuels include CH4, CO, H2, syngas, etc., while the solid fuels mainly include different types of coal and biomass. The CLC technology was initially developed for the gas fuels which mainly focused on the gas-solid reaction between various types of fuels and oxygen carriers. In recent years, the utilization of the solid fuels for the CLC process has been attracting increasing attention. For solid fuels, the pyrolysis and the subsequent gasification of char and volatiles need to be considered under certain conditions. The overview/summary of the existing CFD simulations given in this chapter should provide useful guidance for conducting a numerical simulation of CLC process in a specific reactor for a specific fuel.
