摘要

Internet of Things (IoT) is one of the dominating technologies in today’s era and is adopted in a wide range of domains such as industry, business, healthcare, smart grid, vigilance system and autonomous vehicles. The advancement of IoT devices and their speedy growth present numerous challenges such as standards for communication protocol, policies, security, privacy, design and deployment. Recently, IoT is investigated and applied by various researchers in different areas; IoT is considered as an internet’s future, and IoT will change the perspective of business, standards and life-style in the near future. Communication is the major concern amongst the IoT devices to exchange the information. In communication, privacy and security are the non-trivial challenges in IoT networks due to large amount of IoT devices and their susceptibility to security attacks. Inadequate updates of device, incompetent security protocols, lack of privacy and secure device monitoring are the major problems in IoT ecosystem. In this chapter, we explore the relevant IoT systems, privacy and security challenges such as issues in privacy and security, security attacks, techniques to secure IoT ecosystem, existing security methods, and efficient privacy and security models suited for IoT. We also categorize, identify and discuss different privacy and security challenges specific to IoT applications specifically healthcare and smart home and propose the solution to resolve these challenges by state-of-the-art techniques. Moreover, an application of machine learning and deep learning in IoT privacy and security is presented to build robust model to provide enhanced security and privacy.
