Landslide Monitoring System Using an IoT Wireless Sensor Network

摘要

Landslides are a common phenomenon globally and also in Vietnam. The damage significantly affects people’s lives and property. However, its predictions and warnings are still sketchy. Continuous landslide warning monitoring systems were built to minimize the damage caused by such landslides. A landslide monitoring system using wireless sensor networks can detect soil movement, measure movement, and send an alert level and position landslide or in danger of landslides for the center. All causes and factors related to this dangerous phenomenon will be automatically recorded and archived and give accurate warnings. Wireless sensor network (WSN) is an energy-saving technology solution such as sensor selection, changing sampling frequency, and switching network configuration based on operating scenarios. Furthermore, micro electro-mechanical system (MEMS) sensors with low power consumption are used to receive ground displacement information instead of traditional measuring sensors. This chapter will focus on surveying and evaluating landslide monitoring systems using a wireless sensor network.
