IoT Design Methodology: Architectures and Protocols
摘要
Internet of Things (IoT) is the next evolutionary domain in this era as well as in the future. It is a paradigm of various and multiple devices that are connected through wired and wireless medium, accessible at any time and anywhere with any system. In the coming years, IoT will become a leading technology and is expected to bridge and synchronise the capabilities of new technologies with existing devices. The devices used in IoT depend on the full-scale computing power to make smart systems. The main objective of IoT is to automate systems by providing semantic power to devices connected to the network with less complexity. In this chapter, we emphasise to provide the schematic details of IoT design methodologies with protocol specifications and design based on the types of infrastructure and functionalities. The core functionalities of publish and subscribe model as well as request/response model are discussed with applications, quality of services (QoS), parameters for efficient communication and management, impact of scalability, interoperability of devices, issues in device interoperability with the environment, different standards or protocols in IoT, IoT working environment and related issues in understanding the standards.
