Techniques for Short-Term Percutaneous Access
摘要
This chapter will focus on the techniques for percutaneous access to temporary mechanical support devices. We will review general recommendations for placement, removal, and daily monitoring of these devices, including assessment of proper function, positioning, and anticoagulation, with special emphasis on detecting complications. We will also explain the device-specific nuances and pitfalls when managing cardiogenic shock patients requiring transient mechanical circulatory support.
