Aortic Stenosis
摘要
Aortic stenosis includes an array of pathology with the most common being valvar aortic stenosis followed by subvalvar and supravalvar aortic stenosis. All three forms of aortic stenosis share a similar pathophysiology in that they result in increased left ventricular afterload and compensatory hypertrophy. While valvar aortic stenosis can often be treated with transcatheter balloon valvuloplasty, surgery is the primary modality of treatment for subvalvar and supravalvar aortic stenosis.
