Osteosynthesis for Sagittal Splitting
摘要
All osteosynthesis techniques evolved from traumatology. There, the anatomically correct and stable positioning of fracture ends is the goal of treatment. In orthognathic surgery, however, the displacement of bone segments is the goal of treatment, which places different demands on osteosynthesis techniques. Under aspects of stability, functional adaptation, and masticatory function, the functionally stable osteosynthesis, originally developed by Champy for traumatology, has gained acceptance.
