Western Experts Appearing in Russian Pro-Kremlin Media

The chapter explores the representation of Western experts in pro-Kremlin media in Russia and the thus-mediated impact of the people concerned on Russian public opinion. It focuses on the period from 2015 to 2023 and examines the presentation and portrayal of Western experts in select Russian media outlets. News and opinion pieces – along with interviews – on news websites are examined, to subsequently take a look at political talk shows as a potentially much more powerful format for the appearance of Western experts, drawing large audiences.
