LMD Filler Material Feeding Systems

The system technology components required for LMD consist of a handling system, a laser beam source, a feed unit for the filler material (wire or powder), a processing head for laser beam shaping and focusing with integrated guidance of the filler material (wire head or powder feed nozzle), a local inert gas supply and a laser safety enclosure. Different filler material systems are presented here.
