Eating disorders (EDs) occur across culturally and socially diverse populations. While early research on EDs primarily focused on Western cultures such as the USA, United Kingdom, Europe, and Australia, increasing sophistication of research has revealed presentations of EDs among Eastern Asian groups, including Japan.
