Experimental Mathematics and the Post-secondary Visualization Toolbox: Mathematics, History, and the Visual
摘要
Naomi Simone Borwein and Veselin Jungić develop a visualization toolboxtoolbox for secondary and first-year undergraduate experimental mathematics courses and tasks. They draw on a Two-Eyed Mathematical Seeing approach to help reconsider visualization with the Experimental Method, guided by the example of the Spiral of Theodorus and modern \(\sqrt {2}\) visualizations. In this chapter, NS Borwein and Jungić provide method, historical background, definition of experiential and experimental mathematics, as well as excerpts from interviews with luminaries in the field, and finally reproducible examples for task development.
