Memory and Literary Fiction

  • Máximo Hernán Mena

摘要

The intersection of memory and literary fiction creates a zone of indeterminacy that compels reflection on what boundaries bring into contact rather than on differences and separations. Both memory and literary fiction are nourished by reality and past events, yet they also draw from dreams and the imaginary. In alignment with Paul Ricoeur’s observations, both memory and literary writing engage with the presence of the absent, with the contours of the invisible; they are woven through a writing that seeks to represent, in the present, the faint forms of the past as well as the unsettling silhouettes of the future.
