Capital Accumulation
摘要
Islamic economics is a relatively new discipline compared to conventional economics research. This indicates that certain issues require further exploration in Islamic economics. Capital accumulation serves as an impetus for growth within the capitalist framework and as a consequence of exploitation from the Marxist perspective. This entry aims to understand the role of capital accumulation in Islamic economic theory. This entry articulates diverse perspectives on the topic by initially referencing the Qur’an, the primary source of Islamic economics, followed by a qualitative literature review. Consequently, it has been determined that capital accumulation is not the primary objective of Islamic economic thought; various restrictions are imposed on earnings, with the principal aim being the dissemination of wealth within society. Furthermore, the frameworks that facilitate capital accumulation in contemporary times are incongruent with Islamic economic teachings’ ethical principles.
