Mixtures and Fuels

  • Giorgio Cornetti

摘要

MixturesNonreacting mixture of pure substancesPure substance are often encountered in engineering applications (VanWylen and Sonntag in Fundamentals of thermodynamics, Wiley, New York, 1986; Fellinger and Cook in Introduction to engineering thermodynamics, Wm. C. Brown Publishers, Dubuque, Iowa, 1985). Air is an example: air is a mixture of different gases, primarily nitrogen and oxygen,Oxygen as shown by the detailed composition in Table 6.1a, or by the simplified composition in Table 6.1b. To treat air as a single substance is reasonable at temperatures above the point at which one of the gases begins to condense.
