Steam Turbines

摘要

In Chap. 10 of Vol. 1 we examined the water turbines where the fluid was considered incompressible. In this chapter we will examine turbines for compressible fluids. These turbines consist of a sequence of fixed and moving blades crossed by a high-pressure fluid that, as it expands, produces work. The operation of these turbines follows the same principles with the difference that in the case of steam turbines it is necessary to make use of tables and diagrams (Chap. 3 ), while gas turbines follow the ideal gasIdeal gas relationships shown in Appendix Table A.4.
