Health Sector Performance in Bangladesh: Challenges for Sustainable Development Goals
摘要
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) have a strong relationship with healthcare performance. While the action on SDGs may have an impact on healthcare, the effects on health inequalities must be thoroughly evaluated. This chapter highlights the health-related objectives and challenges of the SDGs in achieving quality healthcare and evaluates the government of Bangladesh’s capacity to manage the health sector. Based on the extant literature, this chapter focuses on the healthcare system and recent COVID-19 cases and preventive and protective health measures in Bangladesh. In the findings, the healthcare system’s weaknesses are identified. In addition, there were inadequate capacities to manage healthcare and the recent COVID-19 outbreak, and an apparent absence of preparation for crisis management.
