Surgical Interventions for Salivary Aspiration
摘要
Salivary aspiration may cause both quality-of-life problems and medical problems for patients, in some cases necessitating operative intervention. This chapter will describe several options for operative intervention, including those to decrease salivary secretion burden and those to mechanically decrease aspiration by altering the airway itself. The chapter will generally flow from least aggressive to most aggressive intervention, with the understanding that some patients will benefit from starting with more aggressive options.
