Application of Nanotechnology for Cerebrovascular and Skull Base Disorders

Nanotechnology offers a novel approach to tackling important medical challenges. It enables more effective delivery of therapeutic drugs by bypassing the blood–brain barrier. In the case of ischemic stroke, nanomaterials prove valuable for precise diagnosis, while real-time monitoring provides insights into disease progression. Nanotechnology-based treatments, such as liposomes and biodegradable polymeric nanoparticles, enhance the management of ischemic stroke. For brain tumor diagnosis and treatment, various types of nanoparticles, including metallic and dendritic ones, offer promising solutions for early detection and targeted therapy. This abstract highlights the potential of nanotechnology to revolutionize patient outcomes in the areas of blood–brain barrier crossings, ischemic stroke, and brain tumor care.
