摘要

The most common primary malignancy of the central nervous system (CNS) is the grade IV glioma glioblastoma multiforme (GBM). Decades of research into novel therapeutics have failed to produce therapies that improve upon the clinical standard of care. Polymeric nanoconjugates (PNCs) have emerged as a novel nanomedicine for the treatment of various cancers including GBM because of their superior efficacy and safety. This chapter will define and describe PNCs, particularly those derived from polymalic acid (PMLA). We will also highlight their clinical potential, synthesis, advantages, limitations, and possible toxicity. Recent research and selected important findings for PNCs will also be considered.
