Nanoneurology and Nanoneurosurgery

Nanotechnology has shown increasing potential for delivering advanced medical care. Nanotechnology research includes various areas, including tissue manipulation, safe and highly targeted drug delivery, improved diagnostics, imagery and methodologies, and biomedical implants. In this book chapter, we focus on the implications of nanotechnology for neurology and discuss some of the general mechanisms and challenges associated with delivering nanoparticles (NPs) to target locations, including encapsulation of the particles, injection into the body, circulation, and target specificity.
