Adela of Blois
摘要
The poem, To Countess Adela (Adelae Comitissae), addressed to Countess Adela of Blois (c. 1067–1137), was written by the clergyman and poet Baudri of Bourgeuil (c. 1046–1130). It comprises a series of ekphrases describing the imagined bedchamber of the countess. To Countess Adela demonstrates the twelfth-century intellectual environment, as well as providing an unique recounting of the Norman Conquest (Bachrach, Anglo-Norman Studies. The Boydell Press, Woodbridge, 2013).
