  • Yaser Mohammed Al-Worafi

摘要

Colorectal cancer (CRC) poses a significant public health challenge in developing countries, characterized by its high prevalence, morbidity, and mortality rates. While notable achievements have been made in recent years, substantial challenges persist in the management of CRC within these regions. This chapter explores the multifaceted landscape of CRC in developing countries, addressing its prevalence, clinical, economic, and humanistic burdens, risk factors, complications, clinical presentation, diagnosis, treatment modalities, and desired outcomes. It also delves into the advancements and challenges in CRC management and the role of online resources, guidelines, and educational materials. Recommendations spanning prevention, early detection, treatment, and support, including telemedicine and community-based initiatives, are provided to enhance CRC management. Furthermore, the importance of government commitment, international collaboration, and capacity building is underscored. This chapter serves as a valuable resource for healthcare policymakers, providers, and stakeholders, offering insights into the current status of CRC management in developing countries and providing a roadmap for improving patient care and outcomes.
