Psoriasis Management in Developing Countries

Psoriasis, a chronic inflammatory skin disorder, poses a significant health challenge in developing countries. This chapter provides an overview of the management of psoriasis in these regions, highlighting both achievements and challenges. Achievements encompass increased awareness, improved access to treatment, telemedicine adoption, and the development of educational resources. Challenges include limited access to specialized care, treatment affordability, stigma, and inadequate healthcare infrastructure. Recommendations encompass strategies to enhance awareness, strengthen healthcare infrastructure, promote affordability and access, leverage telemedicine, provide patient support, foster research and collaboration, mitigate stigma, advocate for policy change, and engage communities. These efforts aim to ensure equitable care for individuals with psoriasis in developing countries, improving their quality of life and reducing the disease burden.
